The majorit Of my fishing is done with the old Pulley rig, pennel of course (need lots of bait for the big fish ). The main body is made of 3-4ft of 60 maxima green, hook length is 12inch of 25lb amnesia (black) with 2 size 4/0 vikings, with a canny link rotten bottom. Them canny links are a godsend, 100% release and so easy to use. As you may of noticed, most of my fishing is done over rough ground and into gullies and kelp. Not had too many decent fish this year , but still got time yet

rig body 80 to 100lb hook length 40 to 60lb use these to fish at long range 150yd plus with largish bait cliped tight up behind the lead. build the lighter and with rottern bottom for just lobbing in the kelp.

Arc, when i said casting a big bait 150yds, I meant a big bait!! it would take a plane to get my mussel and crab cocktails out 150yds lol .(8/0 pennel fully loaded must weigh 150-200grams without the lead). ;D

Marmoo said largish bait not half a tackleshops supply ;D so would agree with a bait that size . However I have a mate (marmoo knows him aswell ) who I have seen cast 10 oz (yes ten ) over 210 yds over grass I know its different with bait shape etc but makes you think dont it .

I know wat you mean Mike ;D I have nothing but respect for people who go out and practise the art, yes art of lobbing leads a long way. I may myself break the dreaded 200yd barrier that seems to have befallen me over the last few months. So respect where respects due... PS. you aint seen a big bait till you see one of mine when im targetting big cod hehhehehe lol, when it hits the water the wake travels 3 times round the globe lol ;D
