This could have gone in the Bait category just as easily... On Mike Thrussels WSF site there is an excellent article about collecting sandeels, shrimps, prawns etc using a Push Net. I'm planning on having a go, but where do you get hold of a few meters of net with a suitably small mesh?
Would love to try a beach seine but they are v expensive when its just for collecting bait on a non-commercial basis.

Mike, try a garden shop/store they might have some small mesh (netting) in stock, or try some sort of net curtain !

Cheers Mike, its an option to keep in mind. I think that the real stuff may be required though - its a tough environment...

Just a thought but...round my area the lads also use "Onion Sacks" or that green netting that some people have in greenhouses.

A quick search on Google brought this link up - www.kellysearch.com/gb-product-62896.htmlIt's a list of net manufacturers in the UK, the nearest one I could see was in Grimsby. Try e mailing a few and see if they sell short lengths or have any off-cuts or roll ends you could buy - worth a go? Keith.
