Fished Sewerby Steps from high water to low with Graham from our fishing club. There was a slight ripple but the water was crystal clear. I only ended up with 2 small flounder on sprat chunks - but did manage to construct my own kite comprising of a beachcaster, line and a huge gull. Not good. Luckily the hooks were no where near the bird so I got it in while Graham attempted to untangle it. It bit him so I grabbed it while he distracted it.
Once it's head was covered it was as calm as anything - cut away all the line and it flew off none the worse for its ordeal. Unfortunately for me one of my work colleagues who was holidaying at Sewerby witnessed everything, so it won't be good for me on Tuesday!
After that debacle we headed south to find some coloured water with a bit of movement. Hornsea north beach was the spot and we fished it from low all the way back up. It started off bad for nearly 2 hours with crabs just stripping everything. Things picked up and I ended up with 3 small schoolies to 3/4 lb and a dab. All the fish came at range to lug.
Not a bad day all in all - even got a tan!

At least you had some luck with the fish, and another gully lives another day "good man"
